Internal Coatings
Internal coatings function primarily to prevent corrosion from exposure to both fumes and condensation in the vapor space, immersion exposure to chemical or stored liquids, and usually an aqueous cuff layer at the bottom with sludge and deposits. Another important function is to provide purity of the product. Internal coatings are used to increase flow efficiency for natural gas pipelines and other anti-corrosion applications. Improved flow conditions may enable use of a smaller pipe or allow for lower compression requirements.
